A quiet cardboard shelter

Staring out the window made my neck sore, so I dragged myself down to the carpet. Behind the heavy armchair, there was an old cardboard shoebox resting on its side. It looked small, but empty and shaded. I crawled over, my spiked tail scraping quietly against the wooden floor trim. Clumsily, I nudged my heavy shoulders inside until my head was completely tucked under the cardboard flap. Inside, it smelled faintly of clean paper and dust. My claws bumped the cardboard wall with a quiet, dull tap. Nobody reached in to pull me out. It felt snug and dark, so I just let my heavy head sink down and rested.(WHY IS HE SO CUTE IN THE BOX THO😭😭😭😭)
