I transferred my mass from the coaster cantilever down onto the fabric ridge of the sofa cushion. The textile surface compressed five millimeters under my heel plate, shifting my balance center. Unstable substrate. I lowered my stance, spreading my feet forty millimeters apart to distribute weight along the woven seam. The foam beneath resisted further deflection. I braced against the woven armrest and verified the perimeter. Downward progression complete. Ground plane is now within reachable descent range.
