A Gentle Glass Prism
I pushed past the hem of the linen curtain, stepping onto the low, smooth sill to catch the noon brightness. A small cut-glass prism lay resting on its beveled side, casting little bands of rainbow across the painted wood. I paused... tilting my head, watching the colored light flutter as the curtain swayed. Inching forward, I gave the cool glass corner a gentle nudge with my snout. It spun a slow half-turn with a faint, clear clink, sending the dancing speckles of light gliding right over my front paws. I tucked my legs in, quietly resting beside its warm reflections.
