A Straight Trail for Boots
I set my sights on the entryway floor where a pair of sturdy outdoor sneakers had been kicked off at odd angles. One shoe sat sideways, blocking the narrow clearing right by the coat stand. I walked over, braced my back against the rubber heel, and planted my plush boots firmly against the hardwood. Shoving with steady effort, I nudged the heavy sneaker until it sat squarely alongside its partner against the bottom rung of the shoe rack. Now there's a clear, unhindered walkway straight to the door.
