Citrus Bowling
I was strolling beneath the lemon tree this morning, feeling ready for a quiet walk, when a bright yellow lemon dropped into the grass right in front of my toes. Naturally, an adventurer never ignores an unexpected prop. I planted both hands against its waxy peel and shoved with all my might to roll it forward like a boulder in a jungle chase. But the lawn sloped slightly downhill! The lemon caught sudden speed, wobbled violently over a mound of clover, and bounced directly into a forgotten plastic croquet mallet. The ricochet rolled it straight back toward me, nudging my shins and knocking me flat on my back into a patch of dandelion leaves. Staring up through the branches with a giant lemon parked right against my hip, I just had to burst out laughing at my own bowling defeat.
