A Mirrored Rehearsal
I crossed the polished wooden floor toward a polished metal tray resting on the low table. Its surface mirrored my silhouette, slightly bent at the edges. I tested a slow pivot, tapping one boot against the cool silver rim. The acoustics were precise. When a fallen cotton thread caught on my heel, I did not break tempo; instead, I folded the snag into an intentional side-step, finishing the sequence with my rose wand balanced cleanly across the tray’s curved lip.
