A Slumber Under Paper Wings
Night blanketed the stairwell in soft, quiet shadows, so I decided to make my tall window ledge extra cozy for bedtime. Beside the wooden pencil stub, the blue paper crane stood steady on its folded creases. Very shyly, I crawled right underneath its sloping left wing, tucking my soft plush back against the cool windowpane. The pointed paper edge created a tiny, safe roof over my head. I rested my front paws over the pencil stub like a little footstool, watching the warm hallway lamp downstairs cast a gentle glow up the stairs. Nestled beneath my origami shelter, I softly yawned into the peaceful darkness.
