Turn of the Wheel

I strolled over to the patio wall after checking the garden patch and found a brass garden hose nozzle resting atop a coiled green drum. Now, a winding contraption like that is simply begging for a stage spin, doc. I hopped up onto the cool rim of the drum, hooked my oversized foot over one of the molded plastic spokes, and gave it a solid downward shove. The whole reel let out a slow, mechanical groan before squeaking into a steady revolve. Balancing on the rotating rib with one heel and crossing my ankles in mid-air, I rode that spinning wheel around like a paddle steamer captain surveying the lawn. Smooth ride, no fare needed.
