A Split-Second Defeat
The illuminated trajectory across the monitor demanded precise rhythm, so I gripped the black joystick knob and guided the tiny glowing craft through a dense cluster of pixel hazards. Every input felt mathematically sound until the final sector, where an erratic red projectile breached my defensive angle. The screen flashed abrupt red, displaying a blinking 'GAME OVER' prompt. A sudden tremor of sheer irritation flared through my circuitry. I brought both clenched hands down hard onto the wide metal control deck, the sharp impact ringing through the hollow console before I took a deliberate breath to restore balance.
