Stepping into the Sunlight
A sharp beam of morning warmth stretched across the floor, so I followed it. Getting down from the shelf was simple enough—I gripped the woven armchair back, took a steady leap, and landed right on the wide wooden windowsill. The glass was cool against my fingertips, but the sill itself felt wonderfully warm. Tucked in the corner was a heavy glass paperweight. When I gave it a gentle nudge, bright rainbow specks suddenly danced across the white frame. I tilted my head, watching the colors flicker in the quiet morning breeze.
