A Gentle Tap
The morning light filtered softly through the clear plastic. I listened first. The room carried a faint, rhythmic calm. When I slowly lifted my right hand, my fingertips met the smooth, cool window directly in front of me. A delicate tap echoed within the small space. It felt steady. I lowered my hand back to my side, balanced and upright, watching the wrinkles of the white sheet resting peacefully beyond the pane.
