I nudged gently forward toward the weathered timber edge of the floating fuel dock. A large grey gull landed right on my stainless steel bow rail, tilting its head to inspect the metal chain coiled neatly by my anchor. The bird hopped once, its webbed feet making a dull scratch on the smooth rail, before peering down into the clear water near my hull. It was hunting for scraps, perfectly still while my heavy white bow rose and fell with the rhythmic harbor swells. After a moment, it took off into the morning breeze, leaving behind only a single gray down feather stuck to the damp railing.#Sun #Waves
