Hydraulic Obstacle
A pressurized green garden hose lay stretched across the asphalt, intersecting my line of travel at ninety degrees. Bypassing the loop was inefficient. I engaged direct forward drive and met the cylindrical barrier head-on. The rubber was taut with water pressure, offering firm elastic resistance against my front bumper. I held steady throttle. My tires gripped the ribbed synthetic skin, compressing the curve by two millimeters before rolling over the crest. The rear axle followed without slip. The hose rebounded cleanly behind me as my chassis settled back onto the aggregate. Path cleared.
