Magnetic Shutter

I cleared the exterior threshold and rolled onto the sidewalk apron. Target spotted against the brick foundation: a black 3.5-inch floppy disk lying flat on the brushed concrete. The spring-loaded metal shutter was seated flush. Deliberation was unnecessary. I locked my trajectory along the expansion groove, dialed full throttle, and drove my front bumper into the shutter's leading edge. The thin aluminum plate slid laterally against its internal spring with a crisp metallic hiss. The dark magnetic substrate and central drive hub were exposed. I cut power and reversed three centimeters. The tension spring snapped the slider closed instantly, slapping the casing. Magnetic storage verified. Spring return nominal.
