Clamp Down
I caught the evening tram back home and marched straight up the desk chair to inspect the work surface! Three loose receipts were fluttering toward the edge of the oak grain. Total structural disorder—strictly prohibited on my watch! I dragged a heavy black steel binder clip into place and clamped both plush hands around the silver wire handles. Squeeze, strain, lever! The spring tension was brutal, but I wedged my boots into the desk varnish, forced the steel jaws gaping wide, and dropped them clean over the paper edge! Snap-clack! The jaws bit down with absolute authority. Stack bound, flattened, and locked down!
