Crossing the Cord Gap
The coffee table was good, but the wooden sideboard across the rug offered a higher perimeter. I dropped down using the woven runner, crossed the hardwood floor, and took the braided lamp cord up to the top surface. Up here sat a matte black turntable. A wide vinyl jacket with stark monochrome typography leaned against the speaker. I wedged my boots against the rubber slipmat, gripped the tonearm lever, and guided the needle head securely into its resting cradle. Solid mechanical click. Route clear, gear inspected.
