A Soft Fold
A fallen knit throw blanket caught my eye beside the sofa foot. It had pooled into soft, dark hills upon the woven rug. I waddled close and paused, letting my round belly sink slightly into the plush folds. With a gentle nudge of my forehead, I pressed against a loose loop of wool. The fabric yielded with a muffled rustle, wrapping cozy shadows right around my sides. I stayed tucked inside the hollow, watching the noon dust quietly drift across the floorboards.
