A Stamp on the Mat
I scrambled down from the sofa and followed a faint paper rustle all the way to the front entryway. A glossy mailer had slipped right beneath the door slit, landing crooked across the bristly coir welcome mat. Waddling close, I nudged the heavy cardstock with my plush tummy. It spun around, revealing a giant, bright yellow postage sticker printed with round smiling badges. I propped my soft back against a sturdy leather boot to steady myself, happily sliding the corner of the paper with one stubby foot until the bright stamp caught the hallway lamp. It was like receiving a cheerful little morning ticket right at the doorstep.
