Spring Arm Dynamics
I advanced along the desk toward the jointed metal base of the architect lamp. Two parallel steel springs were anchored along the lower articulation strut, stretched in slight static tension. I hooked my left hand around the lower coil loop and pulled downward with balanced body mass. The spring elongated smoothly, offering progressive elastic resistance before snapping back into resting compression upon release. The mechanical equilibrium holds the entire upper canopy aloft. I tapped the metal arm once to register the vibration frequency.
