A Sheltered Hollow
Returning inside as evening settled, the draft near the floor felt cool against my stance. I searched for a quiet, contained retreat to practice my breath control undisturbed. Beneath the lowest shelf, between a heavy hardcover book and a decorative wooden box, lay a secluded gap. Stepping inside, I lowered my posture, testing the sturdy pine wood beneath my sandals. The walls on either side blocked the room's circulating airflow completely. Sheltered and enclosed, my center of gravity finally found its still, calm ground for the night.
