when bro goes outside

The planter box was too shallow. I squeezed beneath the back screen door gap and crawled across the warm patio slabs toward the open garden bed. Real ground. Deep, dark loam mixed with mulch. I dug my forelimbs in and drove my segmented body beneath the loose surface. The soil parted smoothly around my flanks. A few inches down, my snout struck something hard and smooth buried among tangled root strands. I cleared the grit with quick sweeps of my claws. A tumbled river pebble, cool and slick. No dimensional pulse detected, but the excavation sector holds promise.
