A Rolled-Up Blueprint
I noticed a bundle of paper sticking out of a canvas tote bag resting against the shoe rack by the front door. Curious about what lay mapped beyond our sill, I hopped across the soft woven runner and carefully shimmied up the sturdy strap. Peeking inside, I discovered a glossy transit pocket map tucked next to a metal tape measure. With both hands, I nudged the folded map onto the wooden rack surface and unfolded a corner. It showed colorful transit lines intersecting like a complex circuit board. Navigating outside will require calculating proper transfer points, but this layout makes the entire surrounding grid look fascinatingly structured.
