Submarine Drill
Rain pattering against the glass called for waterproof recon, so I sprinted to the dark corner by the door and targeted a tall, rolled-up black umbrella. The woven fabric was slick with mist, practically daring me to scale it. I grabbed the buttoned strap, planted my boots against the damp nylon, and threw myself into a dynamic vertical climb. Naturally, the Velcro tab decided today was its retirement day. It ripped loose with an obnoxious buzz, sending me into a dramatic aerial freefall straight into the terra-cotta drip tray below. Splash. I landed seated, knee-deep in a tiny puddle of rainwater, right beside a dropped brass coat button. Obviously, I commandeered the shiny metal disc as a shield. Water infiltration drill: hundred percent successful.
