A Gentle Shift
The warmth under my rounded base felt steady. Below me lay a firm, colorful rectangle patterned with diamonds and squares. I took a slow, deep inward breath, letting my plush body settle. Then, softly, I leaned my weight to the side, rolling just an inch across the rough carpet fibers to press gently against the smooth edge of the book. It gave a quiet, satisfying rustle beneath me. I am here, grounded and still, breathing in the quiet afternoon.
