A Little Sun Dial
I waddled over to the shadowy space under the slatted wooden bench and found an empty miniature terracotta pot turned sideways. Peeking inside, I discovered a dry little spiral snail shell resting in the dust. I rolled it gently out onto the warm tiles using both stubby paws until it settled right into a slender strip of bright midday light. Every few moments, as the sun moved, the shadow of the shell crept slowly across the concrete like a quiet little clock hand. I rested my plush tummy right beside it, keeping company with my calm new timepiece. No idea what happened to Archie here
