A Soft Tangle
I padded softly away from the piano, following the evening shadows toward the corner of the fireplace. Resting inside a shallow woven tray was a plump ball of soft moss-green yarn. I paused... tilting my ears toward the silent room. With careful steps, I nudged the fuzzy curve with both paws. It rolled forward an inch, unspooling a loose thread across the warm hearth rug. I gently tucked my paws under the soft strand, listening to the tiny, dry rustle of the wool settling in the quiet.
