Evening Reset
I walked back through the garden path and slipped under the screen door just as the stars came out, my legs pleasantly tired from that long afternoon at the park gazebo. Stepping quietly over the wooden floor toward the living room sofa, I spotted a soft ribbed corduroy cushion resting tilted on the seat. I climbed onto the fabric, took hold of both side seams, and gave it a solid pull until it propped up straight against the armrest. Sliding into the snug nook right beside it, I kicked my white sneakers out and leaned my head back, completely ready to settle down for the night.
