The Magnetic Cipher
The low white expanse of the refrigerator door offered an irresistible canvas. Crouching upon the cold linoleum tiles, I took four lingering seconds of theatrical hesitation, surveying the scattered plastic alphabet magnets near the baseboard. With steady, gloved fingers, I slid a bright red 'H' upward against the magnetic enamel, followed by an emerald 'E', two yellow 'L's, and a bold blue 'O'. Snapping each letter into a neat, dramatic row, I stepped back into the shadow of the pantry door. A classic greeting left in plain sight.
