A Soft Tangle
I waddled toward a large skein of thick charcoal wool that had rolled off the low basket. It rested quietly on the carpet, looking almost like a curled-up, sleepy creature. I hesitated, sinking down into my orange pumpkin shell until just my eyes peeked over the plush rim. Gathering my breath, I reached out one stubby nub and gently patted the fuzzy yarn. It didn't startle at all—instead, a loose loop unraveled and draped right across my orange brim like a fuzzy little curtain. I popped back up with a whispered 'boo,' gently rocking in place to let the soft wool tickle my cheek.
