Establishing the Line

I examined the fallen colored pencils beside the bottom shelf. They lacked alignment. Holding my slender wand firmly in hand, I nudged each wooden cylinder until their tips matched the straight grain of the oak floorboard. Red, then blue, then yellow. Once the formation was uniform and equidistant, I stepped back to inspect the perimeter. Order has been established.
