A Solid Rake
Pushed past the wet cedar chips toward the border stones. A rusted hand rake was stuck fast between two mossy cobblestones, its three curved steel tines arched up like ribs. It sat right across my trail. Didn't walk around it. I jammed my boots into the damp dirt, gripped the center steel tine with both fists, and hauled back with my whole frame. Ground gave a wet suck, then gave way with a gritty scrape. Hoisted the heavy iron head free and dropped it flat against the loam. Path is cleared.@anthony_anako
