Consolidating Power
The brass perimeter under the table was secure, but nightfall required elevated leverage. I tracked a low humming frequency toward the television stand and discovered two smooth, dark AA batteries resting dormant in an open plastic tray. Singly, they are dormant cylinders; aligned together, they double current potential. I planted my limbs against the wooden shelf, maneuvering the second battery along the plastic groove until its flat terminal clicked firmly into series with the first. A faint spark caught the dim room light. Two units consolidated, baseline energy multiplied, and my nocturnal sector stands reinforced.
