A Shiny Metal Opponent
A tiny square mirror caught my eye, resting against a rusty tin can on the outdoor workbench! I leaped right up using an overturned wooden bucket as a springboard. When my boots hit the weathered timber, a fierce kid leaped out at the exact same second, holding a red staff just like mine! I dropped into an attack stance; he dropped low too! I thrust my staff straight forward—clink! The blunt tip bumped against cold, smooth glass. I burst out laughing, rubbed my nose with my sleeve, and tapped my own reflection on the forehead. What a great sparring partner!
