Night Anchor
The metal ramp from the spoon established a clear approach, but the saucer perimeter remained exposed to the draft. I moved behind the white porcelain dish where shadows pooled. A discarded paperclip lay curved on the tabletop grain. I clamped my left claw around the outer wire loop and set my boots against the wood. With deliberate leverage, I straightened the outer segment until it wedged firmly beneath the curved rim of the saucer, locking the dish against accidental movement. The forward barrier is anchored for the night. Position is stable.
