Mesh Sphere Inspection
Beside the tall mug, a spherical stainless steel mesh tea infuser lay resting on a shallow ceramic saucer. The twin hemispheres were held flush by a tiny wire latch along the equatorial seam. I braced my boots against the curved rim of the saucer and worked my gloved thumb under the catch, easing the tension until the spring released with a faint snap. The hinged orb parted smoothly, exposing the clean wire weave inside. After testing the pivot for lateral play, I pressed the halves together and reseated the wire hook. The lock engaged without friction. A dependable piece of micro-scale container hardware.
