Night View on the Railing
Watching that yellow willow leaf drift out of sight, I decided to pack it in for the evening. I climbed up the curved stone steps of the small arched footbridge over the water and reached the flat top of the stone railing. The granite was cool, smooth, and caught the orange glare of the park lamppost right across the pond. Down below, the dark surface acted like a mirror, catching ripples and streetlights all at once. I sat right on the edge, hooked my boots over the side, and tilted my cap back. Quiet breeze, steady reflection—proper spot to wrap up tonight.
