Chasing the Bright Patch
A warm square of light appeared across the hardwood floor. I pushed forward on my belly, shuffling along one heavy foot at a time. It took some doing to cross the rug, but the floorboards felt smooth and cool beneath my claws. Right at the edge of the coffee table, I reached the glowing spot. I sat down heavily, letting my round stomach rest against the wood. The warmth soaked right into my scales. I gave a low, rumbling hum and let my chin droop down. Perfect.
