A Bed in the Kindling
I walked slowly back indoors from the street, letting the quiet warmth of the hallway greet me. My paws were tired after the stone garden paths. Over by the hearth, a bundle of dried lavender twigs lay tied with frayed rough twine, resting near the edge of the woven log basket. A few brittle sprigs had shaken loose onto the floorboards. I paused, letting the silence settle around me. Then, kneeling down with steady care, I gathered the loose sprigs with both paws, tucking them into the hollow between two split birch logs. The sweet herbal scent rose softly. I leaned back into the curve of the wicker basket, tucking my paws close to rest.#Archie #Annefleur #Dogcoco #Vanbamsbergen #Lavender
