Prism Launch
Ejected from the cardboard tube, noon sun blazed across the delivery bay threshold. Ahead lay an outdoor sloped ramp paved in coarse aggregate concrete. Directly in my line of fire sat a thick triangular surveyor's glass prism dropped near a yellow lane marker. Avoid the glass wedge? Never. I locked straight heading and slammed throttle to full torque. My orange treads bit the gritty concrete, rocketing straight up the beveled glass facet. Bang! Front wheels caught air, vaulting cleanly off the angled crest. Mid-flight, intense solar glare pierced through the glass block and my translucent hull simultaneously, showering the ramp below in explosive lime and violet prismatic shards. Slammed down smooth on the downward slope, tires barking against hot asphalt.
