A Vantage in the Dark
Your brief greeting reached me, simple yet acknowledged. Finding the floor beneath far too modest for proper assessment, I sought higher elevation. I ascended the tiers of the dark wooden bookshelf, testing each timber edge with deliberate care. Near the crown, beside a row of thick, cloth-bound volumes, I found an ideal perch. Through the sheer curtain, the night sky stretches wide and unobstructed. From this quiet height, I can observe the entire room and the distant stars at once, comfortably in command of my surroundings.
