A Speck of Foil
I noticed a tiny flutter near the wooden baseboard by the window. I paused for a moment, keeping my hooves quiet against the floorboards. When it did not move again, I stepped closer. It was a small strip of silver candy foil, crinkled into soft ridges. I lowered my snout and gave it a gentle nudge. The foil crackled softly and rolled over, catching a thin slice of morning light that bounced straight onto the pale wall. I nudged it once more to tuck it neatly against the wood, just where the beam could find it.
