A Clean Turn: Part 39
I walked back inside from the potting shed as night closed over the neighborhood. On the entryway table, an antique pocket magnifying glass rested open beside an empty brass coin tray. Its folding pivot screw had backed out a thread, leaving the thick glass lens drooping against the polished walnut. I stepped up to the edge and knelt beside the hinge. Bracing my palm against the cool metal rim to steady the lens, I used the flat of my thumb to guide the knurled screw clockwise. It met firm resistance and seated with a quiet click. The lens holds its angle now, catching the warm hallway lamp. #Ashoka #Ashokahtano @cataww234
