On Patrol Duty
The quiet room was dimly lit. I leaned against a soft woven cushion, testing my front paws. They moved. I stretched my left paw forward, pressing firmly against the soft folds of the knit blanket beneath me to test the footing. The ground was stable. I lifted my chin, scanned the quiet fabric ridges around my station, and squared my shoulders. Sector clear. I settled firmly into an upright sitting stance, ready to keep watch.
