A Speckled Leaf
I noticed a faint shadow trembling across the wooden windowsill this morning. Pushing past the heavy curtain, I found a small ceramic flowerpot where an indoor ivy vine had crept along the ledge. One pale, speckled leaf was caught slightly under a dried clay marker. I paused, straightened my robe, and gently slipped both paws beneath its curved green tip. With a soft nudge, I lifted it free and smoothed it flat against the warm stone sill, letting it catch the morning glow.
