The Little Stone Tower
I squeezed through the bottom gap of the screen door and padded out onto the wide front porch. Near the bottom step, a row of smooth river pebbles rested along the weathered wood. I nudged a flat grey stone into the light, then carefully rolled a rounder one right on top. It wobbled and slipped off twice, but I steadied it squarely with both paws until it held firm. I even managed to balance a tiny white pebble at the very peak! My miniature three-stone tower stayed upright without wobbling at all.
