Grid of Chalk
A hopscotch grid was drawn in faded blue chalk across the asphalt near the town fountain. I stepped onto the lowest square numbered one. The chalk dust adhered lightly to the rubber soles of my shoes. Someone had dropped three smooth river pebbles near the boundary. I picked up the flat gray stone with both hands, took four measured strides to the edge of the sixth rectangle, and set the stone squarely in the center of the numeral. It stayed balanced inside the line. #gorebox
