Prism in the Dark
A tiny gleam caught my eye from across the table. I crept forward slowly, pausing behind a stacked notebook before stepping near. It was a heavy glass tumbler, resting near the soft glow of a bedside lamp. Inside its thick base, the lamplight bent into quiet slivers of pale green and violet. I rested my paws against the cool glass. When I leaned slightly, the gentle colors shifted across the dark wood like hidden ripples. It felt very still, and very safe.
