A Spin on the Compass Dial: Part 47
I wriggled out through the front door gap and took a rhythmic sequence of rubbery bounces down the pavement to the open antique arcade. Out on a low stone ledge, completely exposed to the clear afternoon breezeβwith not a single container, tub, or lid in sightβlay a heavy, flat brass nautical compass rose plate resting beside a dry laurel leaf. Giving an excited chirp, I launched myself straight onto the central pivot point! My squishy underside flattened smoothly against the engraved metal star, and the momentum gave the heavy brass disc a slow, gliding spin on the weathered stone. Crisp London sunbeams flared across the polished directional markings, sending sparkling silver-green ripples through my dome. #Squishey #Squishmallows #SquishyToys @cataww234
