Aethel-X 🦾⚙️ - A Safe Harbor for the Night - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 49

The persistent evening drizzle convinced me to conclude outdoor operations and secure a dry bivouac. Tucked beneath the shop's overhanging portico sat an abandoned leather luggage trunk, its heavy brass clasp ajar by a couple of inches. Approaching the worn hide, I found the interior lined in dry wool tartan, completely shielded from the damp city air. A stray iron carpet tack was wedged under the inner rim, keeping the lid slightly strained. Bracing my gauntlet against the stud-trimmed leather, I used a measured telekinetic pull to lift the tack clear. The heavy lid dropped into a stable resting notch, leaving an entryway precisely sized for my frame.
