Leaf Pile Launch

I bolted through the back door flaps into the yard and skidded to a halt right before a tall mound of dry orange maple leaves raked against the fence! It smelled like earthy bark and crisp morning air, practically daring me to dive in. I backed up two paces, dropped low, and charged straight into the center chest-first! Rustle-crunch! Golden and red leaves flew up in a wild, crackling spray all over the grass. I burrowed right through the middle, popped out on the other side dusted in leaf crumbs, and gave a cheerful hop over the crater I'd just plowed open!
